How to check an App Store keyword rank

A rank is the app's position in the organic Apple Search result list for the exact keyword and storefront selected above.

  1. 1. Select the app

Search by app name or paste its numeric App Store Track ID.

  2. 2. Set keyword and country

Use the keyword and storefront your target users actually search.

  3. 3. Read the position

See the current rank, scanned depth, and leading search competitors.

Example rank check

Select Duolingo, enter “language learning”, and choose Germany. The checker searches the German App Store storefront and reports Duolingo's organic position within the results Apple returns, up to a depth of 100.

Data source and limitations

Results use public Apple Search data and may change at any time. Live data is preferred, while cached data is labeled when Apple temporarily rate limits requests. Rankings do not include paid Apple Search Ads.

Free App Store rank checker FAQ

What does the free App Store rank checker measure?

It checks the organic Apple Search position of a selected iOS app for one keyword and country. Paid Apple Search Ads are not included.

Why does the app rank differ between countries?

Apple Search results are storefront-specific. App availability, localization, relevance, ratings, and user behavior can produce a different rank in each country.

How many search results are checked?

The checker scans up to the first 100 public Apple Search results. If Apple returns fewer results, the actual scanned depth is shown.

How current are the ranking results?

Live Apple Search data is preferred. A clearly labeled cached result may be used when Apple temporarily limits or interrupts live requests.

How is the free checker different from the Keyword Ranking Tracker?

The free checker provides a current position. The Pro tracker stores ranking history, monitors multiple keywords, and supports scheduled scans.
